Radia, Blue Water Shipping partner for oversized cargo logistics
The collaboration will combine WindRunner's airlift capability with multimodal logistics expertise, initially targeting energy, aerospace, defence and humanitarian cargo.
Radia, the developer of WindRunner, the world's largest cargo aircraft, and Blue Water Shipping have announced a strategic joint marketing collaboration to support the transportation of oversized and complex cargo across key global industries.
Under the collaboration, the two companies intend to work as preferred partners to jointly market integrated logistics solutions. The offering will combine WindRunner's large air cargo capacity with Blue Water Shipping's expertise in multimodal logistics, customs, ports and project cargo.
The companies plan to focus their initial efforts on sectors including energy and project cargo, humanitarian aid and disaster relief, aerospace logistics, and military and defence-related transportation.
WindRunner is being developed as a new class of airlift to address the challenge of moving the world's largest and most complex cargo. Designed to operate from semi-prepared and infrastructure-constrained locations, the aircraft is expected to enable direct delivery of oversized cargo closer to its final destination while reducing the need for disassembly, lowering transportation complexity and shortening project timelines.
Blue Water Shipping brings decades of experience in managing specialised logistics operations worldwide, including the transportation of oversized industrial equipment, wind energy components, aerospace assets, humanitarian cargo and defence-related shipments.
"Many of the industries we support are constrained not only by infrastructure, but by the inability to efficiently move oversized cargo where and when it is needed," said Mark Lundstrom, Founder and CEO of Radia. "By combining WindRunner's transformational airlift capabilities with Blue Water Shipping's global logistics expertise, we believe we can help create more flexible and resilient transportation solutions for customers operating in some of the world's most challenging environments."
Rasmus Svane, Head of Global Product Development Wind at Blue Water Shipping, said: "Blue Water Shipping has extensive experience delivering complex logistics solutions across industries that depend on precision, reliability and flexibility. Our collaboration with Radia represents an exciting opportunity to explore new logistics models for oversized cargo and help customers rethink what is possible when combining multimodal transportation solutions."
As part of the collaboration, the companies plan to participate together at selected industry events, carry out joint marketing and communications activities, and explore coordinated business development opportunities across targeted global sectors.
