Nippon Express Vietnam secures Hanoi air cargo CFS licence
Nippon Express Vietnam gains Hanoi CFS licence, easing congestion and boosting air cargo handling efficiency
Nippon Express Vietnam has become the first Japanese freight forwarder to obtain an air cargo container freight station (CFS) licence for a facility in Hanoi, significantly strengthening its air cargo handling capabilities in northern Vietnam and enabling faster, high-quality one-stop logistics services.
Nippon Express (Vietnam) part of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, secured the licence for its Quang Minh Logistics Center, which began operations in April 2026 at the Quang Minh Industrial Park in Hanoi. The certification required the company to establish a full operational framework covering air cargo consolidation, packing and bonded transport procedures, enhancing the facility’s overall logistics capabilities.
The development comes as Vietnam experiences rapid economic growth, with rising air cargo demand leading to congestion at the cargo terminal of Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport. In this context, the new CFS licence is expected to support a more efficient logistics network and meet customer demand for faster cargo movement.
Located about 15 minutes from Noi Bai International Airport, the Quang Minh Logistics Center allows the company to use its off-airport CFS functions to avoid congestion at airport terminals and ensure timely deliveries aligned with flight schedules. This setup provides greater flexibility and operational efficiency in handling air cargo shipments.
The facility includes a 1,000 m² CFS area equipped with high-rise racks, security cameras and secure storage spaces. Operations such as cargo loading and unloading, temporary storage of export cargo and bonded transport procedures are managed in-house, enabling better cargo control and smoother logistics flows.
By centralising consolidation and bonded transport within its own facility, the company reduces waiting times at airport terminals and improves shipment scheduling. Bulk transport to the airport also optimises transport frequency, while in-house handling enhances cargo safety and reduces the risk of loss or damage.
Nippon Express Vietnam plans to leverage its position as the only Japanese forwarder operating an off-airport CFS facility in Hanoi to develop solutions tailored to regional logistics challenges and create additional value for customers’ supply chains.
