Nina Heinz has officially joined MSC Air Cargo as Service Delivery Director, marking a significant addition to the airline’s leadership team.
“In these recent times of global uncertainty in trade, air cargo has never been more relevant in providing agility, flexibility and resilience to supply chains,” she wrote in a LinkedIn post, adding that she looks forward to driving customer centricity, innovation, and operational excellence in this new chapter.
Heinz brings over 20 years of expertise in airfreight, cold chain logistics, and regulated supply chains, with profound knowledge of healthcare and pharmaceutical logistics.
Most recently, she held senior roles at A.P. Moller – Maersk, including Global Head of Lead Logistics & Cold Chain Logistics. Prior to that, she spent over 15 years at DHL and LifeConEx.
LifeConEx, originally a joint venture between Lufthansa Cargo and DHL Global Forwarding, became a wholly owned DHL subsidiary in 2011.
Heinz began her logistics career with Lufthansa Cargo as Key Account Manager Pharmaceuticals.
Beyond her corporate roles, Heinz has been an active contributor to industry organisations shaping global healthcare logistics standards. She was a member of IATA’s Time and Temperature Working Group (TTWG) from 2010 to 2021, a full member of Pharma.Aero from 2017 to 2021, and continues to serve as a Steering Committee Member of the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA)’s European branch.
Heinz’s appointment is yet another example of how MSC Air Cargo is strategically assembling a leadership team composed of seasoned experts from across the air cargo and logistics industry. Earlier in February 2025, Andrea Gruber returned to the air cargo sector and joined MSC Air Cargo as Head of Service Excellence, where Heinz will now report to her. MSC had earlier brought on Jannie Davel in 2022 to spearhead the launch of its air cargo division; he was promoted to CEO in September 2024 in recognition of his leadership.
Since its launch in late 2022, MSC Air Cargo has made remarkable progress in carving out a strong presence in the all-cargo segment. Backed by the global scale of the MSC Group and a growing fleet of freighters, the airline is fast becoming a serious contender in airfreight. MSC Air Cargo began operations with a single Boeing 777 freighter operated by Atlas Air and has since expanded its fleet to five aircraft. The latest addition, a production 777 freighter (I-MSCA), is fully owned and operated by MSC Air Cargo via MSC Air—the rebranded AlisCargo, which MSC acquired in 2023.
