DHL Express has appointed Chee Choong Ng as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Asia Pacific and Samuel Lee as Managing Director for Taiwan, strengthening its regional leadership team. Both appointments will take effect from January 1, 2026.
Ken Lee, CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific, said the appointments reflect the company’s focus on talent and growth in a changing business environment. He said Chee Choong’s experience in operations and country leadership, along with his focus on people development, makes him well suited to lead the regional HR strategy, while Samuel’s track record will help strengthen DHL Express’s position in Taiwan, a key market in the regional network.
Chee Choong, who was previously Managing Director for Taiwan, succeeds Mateen Thiruselvaam, who has retired after many years with DHL Express. He has more than 20 years of experience within DHL Group and the logistics industry, having joined the company in 2004. Over the years, he has held several operational roles, including Vice President for Operations in Hong Kong in 2017, and later led operations in Hong Kong and Taiwan in 2020 and 2024. During this period, he recorded high employee engagement levels and improvements in customer satisfaction and operational performance.
In his new role, Chee Choong will lead initiatives aimed at strengthening DHL Express’s people strategy across Asia Pacific, as the workplace continues to evolve due to technological and labour changes. He said he is honoured to take on the role and looks forward to aligning the people strategy to support employees and business goals.
Following Chee Choong’s move, Samuel Lee will assume the role of Managing Director for DHL Express Taiwan. Samuel has been with DHL Express since 1998 and has held leadership roles across Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Most recently, he was General Manager of the Central Asia Hub in Hong Kong, where he delivered record performance, strong employee engagement and completed a EUR376 million expansion project in 2023.
Samuel said Taiwan plays an important role in global trade, particularly in technology and innovation, and he looks forward to working with the local team to continue delivering strong service and supporting business growth.
DHL Express said the appointments support its long-term commitment to the Asia Pacific region, which continues to be driven by manufacturing strength, growing e-commerce and digitalisation.
