Munich Airport recorded a rise in cargo throughput in 2025, with total volumes reaching 341,000 tonnes, based on preliminary traffic results. This compares with 311,091 tonnes handled in 2024, representing a year-on-year increase of 9.5 per cent.

Air freight accounted for 340,000 tonnes of the total cargo handled during the year, up from 307,635 tonnes in 2024. The growth translates into a 10.4 per cent increase in air freight volumes, indicating a sustained rebound in cargo demand through the airport.

Munich Airport stated that overall cargo throughput in 2025 was already above pre-coronavirus levels. The airport noted that freight volumes now exceed the pre-crisis benchmark by around two per cent, reflecting the stabilisation of cargo flows through the hub.

The airport highlighted cargo as a continuing contributor to its operational performance in 2025, alongside steady growth in overall traffic. Cargo throughput remains a key indicator of Munich Airport’s role within European and intercontinental logistics networks.
