FedEx Express Europe, a subsidiary of FedEx announced plans to build a new state-of-the-art logistics facility in Dublin, Ireland, situated in the Horizon Business Park south of Dublin Airport.

The new facility will serve as the FedEx headquarters in Ireland and will combine key operations, including a pickup and delivery station, aircraft operations, customs clearance teams, and other essential back-office functions. With the country exporting over €165 billion of goods in 2021, this strategic move demonstrates FedEx’s commitment to a major global trading market.

The new facility will feature a spacious warehouse covering 14,561 square meters, includes 30 loading bays for trucks and 137 loading bays for vans to load and unload shipments. It will also feature a variety of design considerations aimed at reducing the environmental impact of day-to-day operations, such as compliance with the Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) standard, which is equivalent to achieving a LEED Silver rating, and will include several sustainable design features, such as rooftop solar panels, insulated ceiling and wall panels, and double-glazed UV protective windows.

Mike Roche, manager director at FedEx Express, Ireland: “We are thrilled to announce our expansion in Dublin, which enhances our operations in Ireland, and sets us and our customers up for future growth in this important market. This new facility will also enable us to reduce transfer times to and from the airport, meaning we’ll continue to provide fast, reliable service to Irish businesses trading within the domestic market or looking to go global.”
