FedEx has appointed Jamere Jackson as its chief financial officer, effective 30 November. He will succeed Claude Russ, who has served as interim CFO since 1 June.

Jackson brings extensive financial and operational experience from several publicly listed companies. He most recently served as chief financial officer at AutoZone, a US-based automotive parts retailer, where he took on the role in January 2021. He also oversaw the company's store development function.

His experience includes financial management, capital allocation, and operational strategy, which FedEx expects to support its business growth.

Raj Subramaniam, president and chief executive officer of FedEx, said, “I am pleased to welcome Jamere to FedEx and the executive leadership team. Jamere brings a deep understanding of how disciplined financial strategy translates into strong operational performance. Throughout his career, he has proven his ability to balance strategic investments in growth with an unwavering focus on profitability, cash generation, and capital allocation. I am confident Jamere’s leadership will support FedEx’s strong momentum in driving profitable growth and help deliver long-term value for stockholders.”

Subramaniam also thanked Claude Russ for his leadership as interim CFO and his contributions to the company during the transition.

Before joining AutoZone, Jackson served as executive vice president and CFO of Hertz Global Holdings and as CFO of Nielsen Holdings. Earlier in his career, he held several leadership positions at General Electric, including CFO of a division of GE Oil & Gas. He currently serves on the board of directors of Eli Lilly, where he chairs the audit committee.

Jackson said he looked forward to joining FedEx, working with its finance team and applying his experience to support the company’s profitable growth strategy.
