DHL launches dedicated Transpacific air freight service
DHL Global Forwarding has launched TransPac Connect, a dedicated Bangkok–Cincinnati freighter service to strengthen Asia–U.S. cargo connectivity and resilience.

DHL Global Forwarding has expanded its global air freight network with the launch of TransPac Connect, a new dedicated Transpacific service linking Southeast Asia and the United States. The service is designed to provide customers with greater supply chain resilience and more predictable cargo capacity amid ongoing market volatility.
The new solution features a dedicated three-times-weekly cargo service between Bangkok (BKK) and Cincinnati (CVG), operated using high-capacity widebody freighter aircraft capable of carrying up to 100 tonnes of cargo per flight. The air service is supported by an extensive road feeder network across the U.S., enabling broader domestic connectivity and faster cargo distribution.
According to DHL Global Forwarding, the dedicated service will offer customers improved reliability, consistent capacity and enhanced flexibility for time-sensitive shipments moving between Asia and North America. The launch comes as businesses continue to seek more resilient logistics solutions amid evolving trade patterns and supply chain disruptions.
Beyond the new Bangkok–Cincinnati route, the TransPac Connect service expands customers' access to DHL Global Forwarding's wider Transpacific network by incorporating Hanoi, Vietnam, and Taipei, Taiwan. The integrated network connects shipments from these key Asian markets to major U.S. gateways, including Cincinnati (CVG) and Chicago O'Hare (ORD), offering greater connectivity, flexibility, and reliable capacity for transpacific cargo movements.
Designed to address market volatility and fluctuating freight rates, the dedicated service offers customers secure main-deck capacity, fixed schedules, and greater cost predictability. DHL Global Forwarding said the solution enables businesses to plan their supply chains with greater confidence, particularly for oversized and high-value shipments, while ensuring end-to-end operational control throughout the transportation process.
Henk Venema, Global Head of Air Freight at DHL Global Forwarding, said, “Southeast Asia continues to gain strategic importance as a manufacturing and sourcing region. With our new Bangkok-Cincinnati connection and broader Transpacific network coverage, we are offering customers not only speed and capacity, but also the reliability and control they need to build more resilient supply chains. Expanding our controlled air freight capacity is a key lever to help customers navigate volatility and respond to disruption more effectively."
The launch of TransPac Connect is part of DHL Global Forwarding's broader controlled capacity strategy to strengthen supply chain resilience. The service is supported by the company's dedicated air freight network across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, with multiple weekly freighter rotations connecting major hubs such as Frankfurt, Liège, Amsterdam and Hong Kong.
DHL Global Forwarding said its continued investments in dedicated air freight capacity, combined with synergies across DHL Group businesses and airline partners, are designed to help customers build more resilient supply chains while improving operational flexibility, cost efficiency and service reliability.
