CMA CGM plans technical stop in Uzbekistan for China-France flights
CMA CGM Air Cargo currently operates two Boeing 777 freighters and three Airbus A330 freighters.
Uzbekistan Airports announced that it held negotiations with CMA CGM Air Cargo to facilitate a technical stop at Navoi International Airport for the flights between China and France of the French cargo airline.
While the CMA CGM delegation was headed by chief executive officer Damien Mazauder, Uzbekistan’s civil aviation agency Uzaviation Agency and the the air navigation service provider Uzairnavigation Center participated in the discussions.
"During the working meeting, It is planned that the air carrier will make flights with Airbus A330 planes five times a week, and Navoi Airport will become a stopover point for technical landings, refuelling and crew changes of the airline's planes," the Uzbekistan Airports release reads.
Headquartered in Paris, CMA CGM Air Cargo was founded in 2021 as the air cargo division of the CMA CGM Group and currently operates two Boeing 777 freighters and three Airbus A330 freighters. The cargo airline is expected to induct three more B77Fs and eight A350Fs into its fleet.
In April 2024, as the Air France KLM deal was scrapped CMA CGM Air Cargo returned to its initial General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) ECS Group to commercialise its air freight capacities, including the Asian markets.
It reads, “Also, during the visit, representatives of the French company were shown the technical and operational capabilities of Navoiy Airport.”
