7Air to boost fleet capacity with Boeing 767 freighter addition
The airline currently operates a fleet of four Boeing 737-800SF freighters designed for short-haul routes and smaller cargo markets with four additional aircraft expected to join the fleet as it continues expanding operations.

7Air Cargo is preparing to expand its freighter fleet with the addition of a Boeing 767 aircraft as the Miami-based cargo airline accelerates growth across the Caribbean and Latin American cargo market. The carrier said the new widebody freighter will significantly increase its cargo capacity and provide greater flexibility to expand its network as demand for regional air freight services continues to rise.
The Boeing 767 addition marks a major step for the FAA Part 121-certified cargo airline, which currently operates a fleet of four Boeing 737-800 converted freighters comprising two Boeing 737-800BCFs and two Boeing 737-800SF aircraft with four additional aircraft expected to join the fleet as it continues expanding operations.
Founded in 2022, 7Air traces its roots to The Xtreme Group, an aircraft maintenance company, and has since evolved into a dedicated cargo airline specialising in scheduled services, full charters, ad hoc operations and ACMI leasing. The company officially launched cargo operations at Miami International Airport on August 11, 2025, and has rapidly expanded its regional footprint.
The airline currently operates around 20 weekly all-cargo flights linking Miami with destinations including Managua, Santo Domingo and San Juan, while also operating charter services to Lima and Kingston. The carrier has additionally expanded charter operations into Venezuela, and recently added charter flights to St Maarten as part of its Caribbean growth strategy.
7Air’s existing Boeing 737-800 freighters are designed for short- and medium-haul cargo operations, each capable of carrying up to 22,000 kilogrammes of cargo with approximately 6,380 cubic feet of cargo space. The aircraft are suited for high-frequency regional operations and support a broad range of freight, including perishables, pharmaceuticals, temperature-sensitive cargo, courier parcels, machinery, textiles, electronics, live animals and e-commerce shipments.
7Air also operates integrated cargo handling infrastructure near Miami International Airport, including a bonded cargo warehouse spanning more than 118,000 square feet equipped with dock-height loading doors, aircraft parking positions and specialised cooler storage for sensitive shipments.
The Boeing 767 freighter platform is widely used in the global cargo industry for medium- and long-haul operations because of its balanced payload capability, operating economics and compatibility with express and e-commerce logistics networks. For 7Air, the addition is expected to allow the airline to handle larger payloads, longer-range sectors and increased cargo volumes as demand continues to grow.
