WiseTech Global to acquire Opentecnología S.A.
The acquisition strengthens CargoWise's Latin American presence, enhancing its global customs capabilities.
WiseTech Global, the developer of logistics software CargoWise, has agreed to acquire Opentecnología S.A., a Colombian customs and logistics technology company. This acquisition strengthens CargoWise's global customs capabilities in Latin America.
Opentecnología, founded in 2004, provides software solutions for logistics and business sectors, enabling importers and exporters to comply with customs, tax, and fiscal obligations in Colombia.
The company has a strong track record, with an extensive customer base of major logistics operators and global carriers. Its platforms ensure secure generation and transmission of electronic documents, simplifying billing, payment, and regulatory compliance processes.
Colombia has a significant economy in Latin America, with five major commercial hubs and 90% of its foreign trade conducted by maritime mode. The acquisition will enable WiseTech Global to tap into this market and expand its global customs capabilities.
