Logistaas has announced a partnership with Trade Tech to simplify digital customs and cargo security compliance for freight forwarders operating across multiple international markets.
The collaboration enables freight forwarders using the Logistaas transport management system to transfer shipment data directly to Trade Tech’s Syrinx Trade Security platform, allowing customs and cargo security filings to be completed without re-entering data.
“Customs authorities worldwide are accelerating their digital transformation efforts, requiring freight forwarders to electronically submit shipments and manifest data before arrival,” said Kareem Naouri, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Logistaas.
“By partnering with Trade Tech, we are not only helping our users comply with local regulations but also continuing to deliver on our mission of seamless system connectivity and automating day-to-day workflows.”
Trade Tech’s compliance platform is integrated with customs authorities across multiple jurisdictions, providing a single interface for cargo security and regulatory data submission.
“As the industry moves toward fully digital supply chains, the importance of improved efficiency and complete data integrity cannot be understated,” said Bryn Heimbeck, Co-founder and President, Trade Tech.
“Our partnership with Logistaas ensures that freight forwarders can focus on operations and customer service, knowing their regulatory requirements are covered. Trade Tech now offers cargo security filing in 37 countries across the world.”
The partnership comes as regulatory requirements for pre-arrival cargo data continue to expand. The European Union’s Import Control System 2 has introduced mandatory safety and security filings for all goods entering the bloc, while the UAE’s Maritime Pre-load Cargo Information programme is now live and scheduled for full implementation early next year.
Similar cargo security filing requirements are already in place in markets including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan and South Africa, with further expansion expected.
“Regulatory initiatives such as ICS2 and MPCI reflect a fundamental shift toward mandatory digital data sharing between freight forwarders and customs authorities,” added Naouri.
“We have customers operating in over 75 countries, so it’s critical that we give them the tools to stay compliant as these rules expand globally.”
The integration will be offered to Logistaas users alongside the platform’s existing connections with ocean carriers, airlines, and third-party systems covering pricing, booking, visibility, customs, and accounting functions.
