In a significant step towards reinforcing its global pharmaceutical logistics network, UPS Healthcare announced that its facilities in New York and Shanghai have achieved CEIV Pharma certification.

"The certification, awarded by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), is a testament to UPS Healthcare's dedication to operational excellence in handling and transporting pharmaceutical products," says an official release.

UPS Healthcare's newly certified facilities in New York and Shanghai will now join its other globally certified locations in supporting the specialised requirements of healthcare customers. This certification process involved rigorous preparations across multiple aspects of operations, including pharmaceutical product handling and transportation, staff competency, procedures, risk assessment, and infrastructure, the release added.

“By achieving CEIV Pharma certification, our facilities in New York and Shanghai further demonstrate our commitment to meeting and exceeding global standards for pharmaceutical logistics,” says John Bolla, President, UPS Healthcare. “This certification reassures our customers that we can continue to support the safe and efficient transportation of their valuable medical products.”

UPS Healthcare has 17.2+ million square feet of cGMP and GDP-compliant healthcare distribution space globally, the release added.
