RIOgaleão Cargo undergoes audit for cold chain facility

May 22, 2018: At the beginning of March, RIOgaleão Cargo underwent an audit programme of its cold chain by one of its main pharmaceutical clients. The main objective of the program was to assess the level of conformity of facilities and operations to best practices, applicable policies and procedures as well as regulatory and contractual commitments for the temporary storage of pharmaceutical cargo.

Throughout the two days of auditing, the pharmacists, operation and control teams monitored each of the audited processes in detail, providing all necessary clarifications. The facilities, action plans of the last audit, change control, risk management, internal audit / self-inspections in addition to maintenance and calibration of equipment were considered under the audit.

At the close of the audit the feedback was that RIOgaleão has presented notable improvements over the past three years. The auditors highlighted the dominance over the cold chain as well as a very well structured risk matrix, bringing consistency and confidence to the procedures.

In view of these conformities, the recommended period for a new audit at RIOgaleão will be in three years.
