Lufthansa Cargo to transport 800 tonnes of red roses for Valentine’s Day
February 13, 2018: In order to preserve the freshness of the long-stemmed symbol of love, Lufthansa Cargo will be transporting about 800 tonnes of roses in 11 eleven flights with Boeing MD-11 freighters across Europe.
Lufthansa Cargo connects flower-growing countries with its Frankfurt hub every week. Being Europe’s leading cargo airline, it has developed the special fresh product service, and has equipped its freighters with state-of-the-art technology, specifically suited to transport perishable goods, such as flowers and food.
The ‘queen of flowers’ is typically found in Kenya and South America, which has the ideal climatic conditions for growth.
Lufthansa Cargo offers a temperature-controlled support to transport flowers across its entire logistics chain.
