June 10, 2019: Achim Martinka has been named as the new VP Germany, after J Florian Pfaff moved to new role, according to the official statement from the German carrier. Martinka will take over his duties in the coming weeks.

Prior to this new role, Martinka was the head of the One Cargo project that aims to strengthen the cooperation between Swiss WorldCargo and Lufthansa Cargo. Since 2017, Martinka has been responsible for the One Cargo project.

Business economist Achim Martinka began his career at Lufthansa Cargo 2000 as senior manager Global Accounts.

After various positions in Europe, he moved to Atlanta in 2010 as vice president The Americas before being appointed vice president Europe & Africa in Frankfurt in 2016.

Florian Pfaff took over as the vice president Asia Pacific on June 1, 2019.

The new position was filled in line with Lufthansa's usual rotation policy for senior management positions.
