IATA’s Head of Special Cargo Andrea Gruber quits

After 13 long years, IATA’s head of special cargo Andrea Gruber has decided to quit the industry body.

Announcing her decision to quit the organisation, Andrea wrote in a LinkedIn post, “I have decided to leave my position as Head, Special Cargo at IATA and take on a new opportunity with another company. I am excited about the next chapter in my career and exploring new facets of aviation. Stay tuned for my LinkedIn updates beginning of August.”

Andrea has been instrumental in formulation of regulations and handling standards related to the transport of live animals, perishables and healthcare cargo at IATA. In the social media post, Andrea talked about her passion for the air freight industry and about contributing significantly to the area of special cargo.
