IAI to open first P2F conversion site in Naples, Italy

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is opening the first passenger-to-freighter conversion site in Europe to meet a growing demand for cargo planes.

The facility, which will convert Boeing 737-700/800s, will be established in Naples, Italy in a partnership with local company Atitech, IAI said.

It will supply solutions in maintenance and aircraft renovation, converting passenger aircraft to cargo configuration, and will provide training and support in licensing and registration, the state-owned company said.

“The new site will increase income from aircraft conversions by tens of millions of dollars,” IAI said.
