International full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has announced that Monika Thielemann-Hald will be the new global head of automotive logistics. Thielemann-Hald succeeds Martin Wehner, who has successfully managed the automotive business at Hellmann in recent years and has now assumed the role of chief commercial officer Europe.

Monika Thielemann-Hald has many years of international experience in automotive logistics. After almost 20 years at Schenker in various management positions in the automotive sector, she moved to Panalpina in 2014, where Thielemann-Hald established the Automotive Logistics Solutions division in Europe.

Hellmann has been a global player in automotive logistics for over 20 years and is one of the world's leading logistics providers with services in air and sea freight, national and international road and rail transport as well as contract logistics. In the automotive sector, the portfolio includes value-added services such as warehousing and customs clearance as well as classic multimodal transport services using all modes of transport.

"We are very pleased to have gained a proven industry expert in Thielemann-Hald. For Hellmann, the automotive sector is the largest and a strategically very important industry solution. Our goal is to further expand the segment together with Thielemann-Hald and her international team, even in the current challenging market situation," says Reiner Heiken, chief executive officer, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.

"The automotive industry has always placed particularly high demands on logistics. Especially under the current challenges, securing global transport flows has become a major focus of attention in the automotive sector. Therefore, we have to analyze market needs closely and continuously adapt processes in an agile and dynamic way - with regard to intercontinental rail solutions, securing international and national logistics chains in combined transport or CO2-optimized transport flows," says Monika Thielemann-Hald, global head of automotive logistics, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
