GEFCO, a global logistics provider, transported 64 tonnes of Covid-19 medical supplies on two Boeing 787 special charter planes from Shanghai to Bratislava on behalf of Penta, an investment firm with significant exposure to the healthcare sector, for distribution in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

GEFCO managed a complex solution for Penta including the collection of cargo from 7 different Chinese suppliers, securing two special charter flights from China to Bratislava, ensuring all customs clearance, repacking the cargo within GEFCO warehouse before dispatching to Slovakia’s capital city airport.

“These supplies are acutely needed to protect our citizens in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Their safety is of course paramount and we’re doing everything we can to maintain this,” said Ladislav Balogh, Country Manager, GEFCO Air & Sea, who supervised the operations.
