February 8, 2018: The Emirates Group, and its allied entities including flydubai, recently entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board to foster a collaborative framework to support and invest in the development of the state’s aviation sector.

The MoU was signed by between Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline & Group, and Krishna Kishore, CEO of Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB).

According to the MoU, Emirates Group and Andhra Pradesh government will collaboratively work to strengthen the development the state’s aviation infrastructure by way of sharing industry expertise, besides identify development and investment opportunities.

“The Emirates Group is committed to future investment and expansion to support India’s 2020 ambitious goal to evolve as the world’s third largest aviation market. Airlines have a major role to play as facilitators of the economic and industrial growth, and strategic partnerships like this are important to achieve the objective. With this agreement, Emirates and flydubai will work closely with APEDB to share expertise, discuss opportunities, enhance and support the growth of the aviation sector in Andhra Pradesh,” said Al Maktoum.

“We are confident that this significant partnership with the Emirates Group will be a major boost to APEDB’S strategic efforts, which will elevate, enhance and develop the aviation industry in Andhra Pradesh. It will contribute positively to the state’s economic growth and will help us build a stronger framework for industrial and infrastructural development. We are optimistic with the pivotal role played by the Emirates Group in achieving these goals, and we have no doubt that the partnership will reap mutual benefits,” said Kishore.
