Çelebi Aviation inks three year ground handling agreement with Air Asia

January 15, 2018: Turkey's first privately-owned ground handling company, Celebi Aviation has recently launched its operations in Cochin International Airport with the provision of handling services to Air Asia Thai flight.

According to reports, Celebi was awarded with two key concessions in India-Cochin and Kannur that offers a strategic presence in Kerala, and the opportunity to expand its footprint across Indian subcontinent.

elebi, Air Asia Berhad and Air Asia Thai also signed a three years ground handling agreement, thus embarking onto a partnership giving it the trust and opportunity to serve flights in Cochin, the fourth International Airport in India, where elebi operates since 2009.

Similarly, Kannur International Airport will be the fifth station of operations of Celebi in India. The airport is expected to begin its commercial operations by the end of September 2018. The ground handling services is expected to soon commence as the Airport is operational.

Celebi India is exploring avenues to grow its business support airport users' interests with the enhancement of competition and also value added solutions development.

Celebi is expecting 2018 to be an exciting year with interesting opportunities. elebi has sent in an expression of interest for the Air India ground handling arm's sale, and now with the GH regulation being released a few days back, it is expected to pursue more opportunities at both existing and new locations in India.

Celebi Aviation currently provides comprehensive ground handling services at Mumbai, Delhi, Cochin and Ahmedabad and cargo/warehouse services in Delhi, being one of the authorized concessionaires awarded by MIAL, DIAL and CIAL.
