May 05, 2018: In the first quarter of 2018, cargo traffic at Dubai’s major hub Dubai World Central (DWC) grew 8.9 percent year-on-year, according to a report issued by operator Dubai Airports.
DWC handled a total of 229,831 tonnes of freight between January and March 2018, compared to 211,144 tonnes during the corresponding period in 2017.
While, March traffic figures of Dubai’s first airport Dubai International Airport (DXB) reflect that the airport has registered 5.7 percent decline in cargo tonnage. The airport handled 222,045 tonnes of freight volume in March this year.
