deugro successfully delivered 21 metric tonnes of petrochemical equipment by air freight charter from Shanghai, China to Singapore. The 225 cubic meters of extremely urgent and time-critical cargo contained equipment for an LPG Treatment Unit (LTU) and a Propylene Recovery Unit (PRU).
In cooperation with deugro’s Air Charter team, deugro China successfully shipped the full air charter from Shanghai, China to Singapore to maintain ongoing production processes. Due to a tight schedule, which included shipping on the first day of Chinese New Year, there were significant bottlenecks and only limited capacity and resource availability. The air cargo sector remains heavily affected by the ramifications of Covid-19, meaning the flight options for this shipment were limited.
The deugro team worked closely with the airlines to offer its client a suitable charter solution for this time-critical equipment in order to ship it on time and on budget. Thanks to proactive planning of the transport and a space-saving repacking solution, deugro China furthermore managed to accommodate the urgent refinery consignment on the smaller Airbus A330-200F aircraft type instead of a Boeing 747F.
In this way, deugro was not only able to ensure on-time delivery for the client, despite Chinese New Year celebrations, but also achieved significant cost reductions. “Having received the client’s high appraisal and recognition for this challenging job well done is one of the most satisfying aspects of our job. It’s what keeps us going and makes us go the extra mile,” said Nick Wei, customer service representative – Air Freight, deugro.
