Bolloré Logistics has successfully delivered sensitive pharmaceuticals to Iraq for a leading biotech company in Europe. The company contracted Bolloré Logistics Switzerland to handle the door-to-door shipment of 50 tonnes of temperature sensitive products within 24 hours.

The operation started on January 16 at the customer’s warehouse in Germany. The goods were carefully packed in passive cool boxes equipped with cooling elements to maintain the temperature of +2°C to +8°C and for additional protection the pallets were covered with special thermal blankets.

The pre-transport to Cologne airport was executed by temperature-controlled full truck loads and the air freight to Baghdad airport by a full charter A330F. Upon arrival at the destination, the shipment was directly loaded into pre-conditioned temperature-controlled trucks for delivery to the consignee. The optimal transport conditions ensured the perfect preservation and integrity of the pharmaceutical products.

Based on a detailed preparation and an in-depth process set-up with the various stakeholders, the complex customs clearance was finalised within a record time to make it possible for the entire operation - end-to-end delivery to be accomplished within 24 hours.

In these unprecedent times, Bolloré Logistics has strengthened his network of experts implementing a special task force specialised in healthcare to ensure the supply of all type of pharmaceuticals goods in the perfect conditions of security and integrity for sensitive products.
