March 28, 2018: With an aim to expand its international reach, American Airlines Cargo recently appointed General Sales Agents (GSAs) in three other destinations outside its network, which includes Croatia, Slovenia and Kuwait.

With the recent addition of three destinations, American’s European network currently has 18 cities, spread across 12 countries. It operates 455 weekly flights from Europe to the US.

In Croatia and Slovenia, R-BAG, which has expertise in the Central Eastern European air cargo markets, has been roped in to represent American from Ljubljana Airport (LJU) in Slovenia, and Zagreb International (ZAG) in Croatia. Similarly, in Kuwait, Al Rashed International Group has been appointed as its GSA.

From Croatia and Slovenia, cargo will be trucked from both countries to European destinations, which offers direct service into the American Airlines’ global network. Interline solutions will also be added for customers looking for express products.

Out of Kuwait, widebody interline agreements into Europe to London Heathrow (LHR), Paris (CDG), Madrid (MAD) and Rome (FCO) will connect seamlessly with American's own services to the US, and beyond.

Commodities from Kuwait will mainly comprise general cargo, while out of Croatia and Slovenia, there will be a more diversified range of goods, which includes specialist pharmaceutical shipments and spare parts.

“These are two great new additions into our international GSA network.” said Richard Hartmann, regional sales manager, American Airlines Cargo.

“Both are highly experienced companies, with a proven track record in working with exports to the USA. Not only are they looking to send cargo to the US, but they believe there is considerable demand for service to onward destinations across our network in Latin America,” said Hartmann.
