KLN Logistics Group and SATS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening global supply chain connectivity, improving operational efficiency and developing logistics solutions for customers.
Under the agreement, KLN Freight International, a subsidiary of KLN, will work with SATS to combine KLN’s freight forwarding and logistics capabilities with SATS’ global air cargo handling network and expertise. The strategic MOU was signed by Wong Siew Loong, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of KLN, and Martin Holme, Chief Commercial Officer of SATS, and witnessed by Jack Liu, Director, Global Air of KLN, and Henry Low, Chief Executive Officer of SATS Singapore Hub.
The companies will jointly develop and scale solutions across their combined networks in Asia, Europe and the Americas, with a focus on improving end-to-end supply chain connectivity and efficiency.
As an initial step, the partnership will focus on two value-added service areas: end-to-end temperature-controlled handling solutions for sensitive cargo, and expedited handling for time-critical shipments requiring speed, precision and reliability.
Wong Siew Loong, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of KLN, said, “For time-critical and sensitive cargo such as healthcare shipments, every touchpoint in the supply chain is critical to safeguarding patient safety and service continuity. Through this MOU, our partnership with SATS leverages our complementary strengths to reinforce network resilience, enhance shipment visibility and advance service standards across our global operations. We are committed to delivering faster, more reliable and sustainable logistics solutions that provide greater assurance, agility and value for customers worldwide.”
Martin Holme, Chief Commercial Officer of SATS, said that the partnership reflects its focus on creating value through closer collaboration across the logistics ecosystem. The company will leverage its experience in cargo visibility, operational efficiency and time-critical shipments to develop solutions with KLN that improve service quality and efficiency. Singapore will serve as the first station for the initiatives and a launchpad for scaling the solutions across both companies’ global networks.
