ECS Group has appointed Eric St Amand as Chief Operating Officer (COO) Americas, strengthening its leadership team as the company continues to expand its presence across the region.

St Amand brings more than 27 years of international experience in supply chain management, transportation and logistics. In his new role, he will oversee ECS Group’s operations across the Americas, working with regional teams, airline partners and its wider commercial network to drive growth and operational development.

The appointment is part of ECS Group’s efforts to strengthen its leadership structure in the Americas and respond to evolving airline requirements, cargo market trends and growth opportunities across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Before joining ECS Group, St Amand served as Americas Vice President and President of Geodis Supply Chain Optimisation in the US. He also held several senior leadership positions at IBM, with experience spanning operational management, P&L responsibility, commercial development and business transformation.

His international career has included assignments across Europe, Asia and Latin America, giving him broad experience in managing complex operations and growth programmes across global markets.

Jean Ceccaldi, Chief Executive Officer of ECS Group, said, “Eric’s appointment represents an important step in the continued development of our business across the Americas. He brings an impressive combination of operational expertise, commercial understanding and international leadership experience. His background in managing complex organisations and delivering sustainable growth will be highly valuable as we strengthen our position in the region.”

St Amand is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and previously served as a Logistics Officer in the US Army. He has also completed executive education programmes at ESCP Europe and Harvard Business School. He said he was pleased to join the company at a key stage of its development. He highlighted ECS Group’s strong international reputation, entrepreneurial culture, specialist cargo expertise and focus on innovation.

As part of the leadership transition, Paco Ortega will remain based in Miami and work alongside Eric St Amand over the coming month to ensure a smooth handover. Following the transition, Ortega will shift his focus towards strategic projects for ECS Group, enabling the company to continue leveraging his regional expertise, customer relationships and senior management experience.

Ceccaldi also expressed appreciation for Paco Ortega’s commitment and leadership over the past two years. As Regional Manager, Ortega successfully managed the combined responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Commercial Officer, providing stability and direction during an important period for the business.

He will continue contributing to ECS Group through his involvement in strategic projects across the Americas and the wider organisation, with his experience and understanding of the business remaining valuable assets as the company pursues its long-term growth ambitions.

The appointment is effective immediately.
