Cindy Cao has been appointed as CEO, Greater China Cluster, DB Schenker with effect from June 4, 2024.

Cao joined DB Schenker in 1995 as an Air Import Manager and rose through the ranks with stints as GM of Airfreight of North China and then Beijing Branch before leading Area West as VP, and then most recently as SVP and Head of Area East and Area North, says an official release. "She takes over from Vishal Sharma who was appointed APAC CEO in February 2024."

Cao is an alumna of Beijing Technology and Business University and has an Executive MBA from HEC LIEGE & Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the release added.

“In the current dynamic and rapidly changing environment, Cindy’s deep experience is a big advantage for us and our customers," says Sharma. "Particularly, in navigating a growth path and creating value, amidst one of our most strategically significant and robust markets in the region and group.”

With around 72,700 employees at more than 1,850 locations in over 130 countries, DB Schenker is one of the world’s leading logistics service providers. DB Schenker reported a 31 percent decline in 2023 revenue at €19 billion and adjusted EBIT of €1.1 billion, down 39 percent on 13 percent lower air freight volume.
