CEVA Logistics has opened a new 4,300-square-metre international road transport (TIR) centre in Alashankou, China. Located within the Cross-Border e-commerce Industrial Park in the city's comprehensive bonded zone, the facility includes an additional 1,000 square metres dedicated to handling dangerous goods. This marks CEVA’s first TIR hub designed to consolidate both inbound and outbound TIR road freight. The inauguration was attended by local officials from the Alashankou municipality, who joined CEVA in celebrating the milestone, according to an official release from CEVA.

Bordering Kazakhstan and served by highways that funnel into Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe, Alashankou offers bonded-zone incentives, fast customs clearance, and duty-free storage.

Its policies are designed to accelerate e-commerce fulfilment and manufacturing clusters. CEVA will use the centre for LTL consolidation, allowing multiple shippers to share truck space and reduce costs. Compared to conventional road transport, the TIR model paired with the new centre reduces transit time by nearly 30% and cuts costs by 15% on average, the release added.

The centre is set to become the hub of a secure, fast, and reliable TIR network connecting around 30 cities across 15 countries in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe.

“Alashankou is no longer a checkpoint; it is a launchpad for Eurasian supply chains. By blending the simplicity of TIR with the city’s forward-looking policies, we give customers a faster and fully visible path end-to-end,” says Kelvin Tang, Vice President of Ground & Rail, Greater China and Global Cross-Border & Multimodal Leader, CEVA Logistics.
