Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo welcomed a brand new, fully electric truck, the Volvo FH Electric.

This truck symbolises the joint efforts of both companies to reduce their ecological footprint, says an official release from Bos.

"The vehicle is fully operational, providing door-to-door service by transporting consolidated cargo from our facilities to various air cargo agents. This new approach has already resulted in fewer movements on our premises at Schiphol, further improving our operational impact," says Air France KLM Martinair Cargo in its LinkedIn post.

The move to a fully electric truck is the result of the joint ambition of both companies to further increase the sustainability of the logistics chain, the release added. "This process already started with the switch from regular fuels to HVO100, a biofuel that ensures a CO2 reduction of up to 90 percent less emissions for the trucks that drive on behalf of Air France KLM Martinair Cargo."

Frank Bos Jr., General Manager, Bos Logistics says: "With the introduction of this electric truck, we are strengthening our commitment to a more sustainable future. This vehicle contributes to reducing our CO2 emissions and is an important step in promoting sustainable logistics.”

Koen Bolster, Vice President, KLM Cargo adds: “The use of a fully electric truck underlines our determination to make the logistics chain more sustainable where possible. Together with Bos Logistics, we are taking an important step towards cleaner logistics, further strengthening our joint position as leaders in the sector.”
