Resonia partners Amber Wings to advance heavy-lift drone operations
The partnership will introduce next-gen heavy-lift drones to speed up and streamline India’s power transmission projects.

Amber Wings M50 in action
Resonia Ltd., a leading player in India’s power transmission infrastructure sector, has signed an MoU for a strategic Joint Venture (JV) with Amber Wings, the UAV manufacturing subsidiary of Ubifly Technologies. Announced during the Dubai Airshow 2025, the JV marks a major step toward integrating advanced heavy-lift drone systems into India’s power EPC landscape, replacing slow, manual logistics with autonomous, high-capacity aerial solutions.
The partnership builds on a successful pilot deployment conducted on the Khavda IV C Transmission Project, where Amber Wings’ M50 drones, capable of carrying 50kg per sortie, have been moving up to four tonnes of material daily across difficult terrain. These operations demonstrated not just the payload efficiency of heavy-lift drones but also their potential to reduce manual effort, enhance worker safety, and accelerate construction timelines in remote and hazard-prone regions.
With the MoU in place, the roadmap now shifts toward developing next-generation drones with a payload capacity of 200kg. The companies plan to integrate cooperative swarm technology, advanced battery systems, and autonomous tower erection capabilities. The goal is to support large-scale mechanisation and substantially increase throughput in power transmission construction, where last-mile delivery continues to be the sector’s biggest bottleneck.
India’s power EPC market, currently valued at USD 22.4 billion and projected to reach USD 39.1 billion by 2033, is under increasing pressure to deliver faster, safer, and more resilient projects. Resonia believes that drone-based logistics will play a central role in meeting these demands.
Arun Sharma, CEO of Resonia, said the JV represents a pivotal moment in bringing next-generation technology to complex transmission projects. “By integrating heavy-lift drone technology, Resonia is enhancing efficiency and safety on the Khavda IV C Transmission Project while laying the foundation for next-generation mechanisation across the sector. This milestone reaffirms our commitment to breakthrough innovation and strengthens our ability to deliver complex projects with greater speed, precision, and excellence,” he said.
Prof Satya Chakravarthy, Founder of Ubifly Technologies and CTO of Amber Wings, added that the partnership underscores India’s readiness to adopt advanced aerial systems for real-world industrial applications. “This synchronised effort will accelerate development and deployment, ensuring practical impact. We are excited about the potential use cases our drone platform can enable,” he said.
Beyond technology, the JV places strong emphasis on workforce enablement. A core pillar is the training of EPC site workers to become certified drone operators, ensuring that the transition to automation remains inclusive while creating a skilled, future-ready labour ecosystem.
With proven pilot results and an ambitious technological roadmap, Resonia and Amber Wings aim to establish a drone-first material movement ecosystem for power infrastructure, one that prioritises safety, agility, and technological independence as India accelerates its national grid expansion.
