Peli BioThermal acquires Evo to expand cold chain solutions
Peli BioThermal adds Evo’s cryogenic shippers and evoIS platform, enhancing services for Cell and Gene Therapy markets.

Peli BioThermal, a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics, has acquired Evo from BioLife Solutions, strengthening its portfolio of products, services, and technology across the pharmaceutical value chain. The move expands Peli BioThermal’s ability to deliver a full spectrum of cold chain solutions to existing and new customers worldwide.
The Evo portfolio includes cryogenic shippers and the evoIS technology platform, which cater to the demanding needs of the rapidly growing Cell and Gene Therapy (C>) sector. By adding Evo’s capabilities, Peli BioThermal aims to enhance flexibility, reliability, and precision in cryogenic transport key factors in delivering life-saving therapies to patients globally.
According to Peli BioThermal CEO Sam Herbert, the acquisition is a strategic step that completes the company’s solutions portfolio and reinforces its commitment to addressing complex cold chain challenges. He said that Peli BioThermal customers will benefit from greater choice and convenience, while Evo users will gain access to the company’s global expertise and service network. Herbert also praised BioLife Solutions and SAVSU for their innovation in the sector and noted that Peli BioThermal plans to accelerate development and innovation of the Evo product line.
Evo products will be integrated with Peli BioThermal’s existing range, including Credo reusable shippers, NanoCool systems, and the recently launched Credo Vault bulk shipper and Vero One single-use dry ice shipper. This broader offering will give customers more options to balance sustainability, performance, and simplicity in their operations.
The acquisition marks Peli BioThermal and its parent company Pelican Products’ second add-on deal since their acquisition by Platinum Equity. Platinum Equity Co-President Jacob Kotzubei and Managing Director Matthew Louie said the addition of Evo strengthens Peli BioThermal’s position in temperature-controlled logistics and opens new opportunities in high-growth markets.

The Evo team and operations based in Bruce Township, Michigan, will continue as part of Peli BioThermal, ensuring continuity of expertise and customer support while leveraging global resources to scale future growth.
