Oscar de Bok appointed the new CEO of DHL Global Forwarding
DHL Group announces key leadership changes as Oscar de Bok takes over Global Forwarding, Freight from Tim Scharwath.

DHL Group has announced a significant reshuffle in its top leadership, with Oscar de Bok appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight. De Bok, who has been part of the DHL Group since 1999 and served as CEO of DHL Supply Chain since 2019, will succeed Tim Scharwath, who is set to retire. The changes will come into effect on August 16, 2025.
Tim Scharwath leaves behind a legacy of transformation, having spearheaded the modernization of DHL Global Forwarding’s IT infrastructure, digitalized operational frameworks, and enhanced customer-facing services. Under his leadership, the freight division saw sustained improvements in agility and reliability.
“On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Tim Scharwath for his service to the company and for his successful work in effectively leading and further developing DHL Global Forwarding, Freight,” said Katrin Suder, Chair of the Supervisory Board of DHL Group.
Oscar de Bok’s appointment reflects both continuity and ambition within the DHL Group. With a career spanning more than two decades across multiple geographies—including Italy, the Nordics, and Asia—de Bok has demonstrated strong leadership and a sharp focus on execution. As CEO of DHL Supply Chain, he successfully expanded the company’s footprint, strengthened its operational backbone, and led strategic transformations globally. He will now serve as CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight through August 2030.
To fill de Bok’s current role, Hendrik Venter has been named as the new CEO of DHL Supply Chain and member of the Management Board. Venter, who currently oversees the Supply Chain business across Mainland Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, brings over 15 years of management experience within DHL. In his current capacity, he managed operations in 25 diverse markets, focusing on standardization, growth, and regional integration.
“We are delighted to have Oscar de Bok lead the Global Forwarding, Freight division,” said Suder. “His outstanding track record combined with his deep understanding of our business makes him an ideal candidate. We are equally confident in Hendrik Venter as he takes over the Supply Chain leadership.”
Tobias Meyer, CEO of DHL Group, added, “Both colleagues have exceptional expertise, experience, and leadership skills, which will benefit our customers, our company, and our shareholders.”
These appointments mark a critical step forward in the Group’s leadership succession plan, reinforcing its commitment to continuity, growth, and customer excellence across logistics verticals worldwide.
