Liege Airport handled 697,816 tonnes of air freight in the first half of 2026, a rise of 11.3% compared with the same period last year. Cargo aircraft movements grew at a slower pace, up 3.3% to 14,354.

CEO Laurent Jossart said the gap between tonnage growth and movement growth points to efficiency gains across the airport's ecosystem.

Exports drove much of the increase, climbing 19%, with Asia and North America the strongest destinations.

The airport is monitoring the new European Union e-commerce regulation, which took effect on July 1. It said it is too early to assess the rule's impact on cargo flows.

The results extend Liege's growth trajectory and reinforce its position as a strategic air cargo hub in Europe, the airport said.
