Kuehne+Nagel has opened a 10,000 m² healthcare distribution centre for Sysmex Europe SE and Sysmex Deutschland GmbH, strengthening their strategic partnership in the global healthcare sector. The facility will support diagnostic instruments and reagents with supply coverage across the entire EMEA region.

The new centre offers services such as direct-to-customer deliveries in parts of Europe, same-day dispatch for urgent air freight exports, and supply chain support for the wider region. Medical products are stored across three temperature zones, while a device configuration centre allows for configuring, pre-assembling, testing, and dispatching customised solutions.

Kuehne+Nagel said the project reflects its growth strategy in healthcare contract logistics. Its HealthChain quality label ensures regulatory, industry-specific and customer-specific standards are met at the highest level. Sysmex, a leading global provider in in-vitro diagnostics with expertise in haematology, haemostasis, and urinalysis, highlighted the importance of efficiency, safety, and flexibility in logistics.

“In a spirit of partnership, we have succeeded in developing a distribution centre focused on efficiency and growth, which is of strategic importance to both companies,” said Tobias Jerschke, Managing Director of Kuehne+Nagel Germany.

Sysmex executives also welcomed the development. “Our collaboration with KN enables us to tackle two critical dimensions of our supply chain strategy: we continue to generate synergies from integrating the logistic flows of our Sysmex companies in Europe while we prepare ourselves for the expansion of our product portfolio,” said Stefanie Schaal, Board Member of Sysmex Europe SE and Sysmex Deutschland GmbH.

“This logistics centre, tailored to our processes, enables Sysmex to successfully continue the strong growth of recent years in the EMEA region,” added Alexander Staffeldt, who led the project for Sysmex.
