In a significant move to strengthen its presence in Türkiye, global supply chain leader Arvato has inaugurated a cutting-edge logistics center in Istanbul. The facility, spread across 31,000 square meters and two floors, is strategically located just 19 kilometers from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW), enabling swift access to regional and international logistics hubs. This marks Arvato’s ninth warehouse in Türkiye and is seen as one of its most ambitious projects in the country to date.

The new site is tailored to meet the rising demands of the fast-paced e-commerce and retail sectors, particularly in fast fashion and beauty. As part of a long-term strategy to scale alongside its global clients, Arvato initiated the project as a greenfield development, designing the warehouse to suit client-specific needs from the ground up. Notably, the facility secured long-term contracts with several international brands eight months before its completion, which is a testament to Arvato’s strong industry foresight and client trust.

“This new site is part of our global growth strategy,” said Umur Özkal, Managing Director of Arvato in Türkiye & UAE. “It’s a clear commitment to the Turkish market and to delivering tailored, scalable solutions to our international partners.”

The center supports omnichannel fulfillment for both B2B and B2C operations, including warehousing, transport management, returns processing, and value-added services (VAS). Beginning in the first half of 2026, the facility will become the first in Arvato’s Türkiye network to incorporate automation systems dedicated to cosmetics handling in an omnichannel environment.

More than 400 full-time employees will operate the site, which is built to prioritize efficiency, employee well-being, and sustainability. Its advanced technical infrastructure includes integrated sorters and conveyors, designed to support high-speed operations. A rooftop solar power plant with a 1,500 MWh annual capacity is also set for installation by 2026, aimed at making the site energy-positive and helping avoid 675 tons of CO2 emissions annually.

Türkiye continues to be a key market for Arvato, driven by its young population and the rapid rise in online retail. With over 300,000 square meters of logistics space now under management in the country, Arvato’s latest investment reinforces its position as a leading player in Türkiye’s dynamic logistics ecosystem.
