American Airlines Cargo has appointed long-serving leader Andy Cornwell as Head of Cargo Sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Cornwell, widely respected in the air cargo industry for championing the value of freight aviation, takes on the expanded role after more than three decades with the airline.

During his 35-year career at American Airlines, Cornwell has held a variety of positions, particularly in sales and business development. His previous role covered northern Europe, making this promotion a natural step in his career progression.

“I am delighted to be taking on this new role which is a natural extension of my previous post covering northern Europe. I believe the Cargo products and customer service at this airline are second to none and to be able to drive forward our full range of products to an even wider group of customers is a challenge I am happy to take on,” Cornwell said.

Cornwell holds an MBA from the University of Buckingham and will remain based at London Heathrow, reporting to Global Head of Sales, Indy Bolina.

American Airlines Cargo operates daily services between major cities in the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America and Asia. The carrier offers a range of products and handling capabilities, moving shipments from life-saving pharmaceuticals to e-commerce across the world’s largest passenger network.
