The Airforwarders Association (AfA) has expanded its membership by over 20 companies in 2025, growing its total to more than 225 organizations from across the air cargo and logistics supply chain. This latest milestone reinforces the Association’s position as a leading voice for freight forwarders and allied service providers in the United States.

The new members include businesses specializing in e-commerce fulfilment, temperature-controlled logistics, cross-border air freight, cargo screening technologies, and regulatory compliance, indicating a diversified and evolving industry landscape.

“This milestone reflects the trust and recognition AfA has earned through its strong advocacy, member support, and commitment to shaping the future of our industry,” said Brandon Fried, Executive Director of AfA.

AfA’s growth comes at a pivotal moment for the airfreight industry, which continues to face technological, regulatory, and infrastructure-related challenges. As part of its mission, AfA offers members comprehensive advocacy by engaging with lawmakers and federal agencies. The Association also fosters collaboration through events like the annual AirCargo Conference, scheduled for February 15–17, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, and regional networking forums.

Education and knowledge-sharing remain a core component of AfA’s services. Members regularly participate in webinars and online training. In September, the Association will host a fireside chat with Peter Penseel, President of Delta Air Lines Cargo, who will share insights into the air cargo market and Delta’s strategic direction.

AfA has also endorsed the recent U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) report highlighting deficiencies in the nation’s airport air cargo infrastructure. The report aligns with concerns the Association has voiced for years about underinvestment in airport cargo facilities.

“AfA will continue to champion meaningful improvements and provide critical insight and support to ensure air cargo continues to thrive in today’s fast-changing environment,” Fried added.
