P&WC's fuel efficient PW800 engine to power Falcon business Jet

December 14, 2017: Setting a new benchmark in the long-range business jet market with sustainable technologies, PurePower PW800 engine from the family of Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has been selected to power the new Falcon Business Jet, which is a part of Dassault Aviation.

According to reports, the PurePower PW800 engine is optimised for high-flying, fast, long-range business jets, and shares a similar rigorously-tested core technology used in Pratt & Whitney's high-class PurePower family of geared turbofan commercial engines.

The advanced common core technology has 15 distinct PurePower engine applications that amassed over 400,000 in-service hours.

The PurePower PW800 engine is equipped with the Next-Gen technologies in every aspect%u2014delivering double-digit improvement in fuel efficiency and setting a new %u2018green' engine standard for emissions with the advanced TALON X combustor.

It also has low-noise design and low vibration levels which results in an exceptionally quiet cabin and enables a comfortable passenger experience.
