April 12, 2018: Lufthansa Cargo has appointed Dorothea von Boxberg as its new executive board member product and sales (chief commercial officer), from August 1.

She will succeed Alexis von Hoensbroech, who has been appointed as the new chairman of the executive board of Austrian Airlines.

Boxberg is currently with Lufthansa Cargo as vice president global sales management. She will be responsible to oversee the group’s global performance management, pricing, airmail, product management and sales processes.

“I am pleased to propose to the supervisory board Dorothea von Boxberg as the successor to Alexis von Hoensbroech, who is currently serving as chief commercial officer (CCO) of Lufthansa Cargo. Her extensive management experience in strategy, product development and sales was an optimal prerequisite for this task,” said Harry Hohmeister, chairman of the supervisory board, Lufthansa Cargo.

As Lufthansa Cargo’s CCO, Boxberg will be handling sales, revenue management, pricing, network planning and sales management, globally.

Boxberg studied industrial engineering at TU Berlin, and ESCP/EAP Paris. Between 1999 and 2005, she was employed with The Boston Consulting Group, based in Stuttgart, as project manager.

In 2005, Boxberg joined Star Alliance, where she was responsible for alliance development. She later joined Deutsche Lufthansa AG in 2007.

Since 2009, she headed the strategy and investments arm of Lufthansa Passage, since 2009. Subsequently, she held top management positions in product management at Lufthansa Passage.

In 2015, Boxberg was transferred to Lufthansa Cargo, and where she headed the global sales management.
