Wing will finally launch the first commercial drone delivery service in a major US metropolitan area in three days, on Thursday, April 7, says the official announcement.

The service will begin modestly in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, serving tens of thousands of suburban homes in the cities of Frisco and Little Elm.

Wing has pre-assembled drones at a nearby Walgreens store so that they can fly health and wellness products directly to customers' homes.

Wing will be delivering things with three new partners in Frisco and Little Elm, in addition to Walgreens. They will be bringing Blue Bell Creameries ice cream (yep, it will stay frozen on those hot Texas summer days! ), easyvet prescription pet meds, and Texas Health first aid kits.

"This is an important milestone for Wing and drone delivery in the U.S. It simply would not have been possible without the support of the public officials and the citizens of Frisco and Little Elm, and our merchant partners," said Adam Woodworth, chief technology officer, Wing in the official release.
