Seafrigo launches in Chile to strengthen global cold chain
Seafrigo launches two new offices in Chile to strengthen cool-chain logistics and support global perishables trade.

Seafrigo, a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics, has officially expanded its footprint into Latin America by opening two new offices in Chile. The expansion includes an operational hub at Santiago Airport and a commercial office in Las Condes, Santiago. This strategic move is aimed at meeting the growing demand for cool-chain logistics in Chile’s thriving perishables sector.
Chile is one of the world’s leading exporters of fresh produce, ranking perishables just behind mining in terms of economic importance. With a consistent year-round output of high-value agricultural goods—such as cranberries, peaches, Fuji apples, and golden kiwis—Chile is a critical player in global food supply chains. Seafood also remains a major export, further increasing the need for specialized logistics solutions.
Seafrigo’s Chilean operations are being led by Denis Hidalgo, a seasoned logistics expert with over 22 years of experience in both air and ocean freight. Under his leadership, the company will offer a full suite of services including documentation handling, airport repacking, inland trucking, and customized packaging—all tailored to preserve the integrity of temperature-sensitive goods.
The company already manages a wide array of air freight exports from Chile, including cherries bound for Asia, custard apples and salmon to the USA, swordfish and flowers to Europe, and seeds to Australia. Maintaining high standards in food safety and temperature control, Seafrigo ensures perishables are kept fresh throughout transit, whether under chilled, frozen, or ambient conditions.
In addition to exports, Chile is also witnessing a growing volume of food imports, particularly premium items like cheese, wine, and chocolate from France and the USA. Seafrigo is well-positioned to handle this bi-directional trade with its advanced logistics infrastructure and expert personnel.
Seafrigo’s strong performance in the Chilean cherry export season—ranking second in IATA cargo statistics—further validates its position as a key logistics provider in the region. The company is also eyeing future expansion into Peru, another significant exporter of perishables, as part of its broader Latin American growth strategy.
With this expansion, Seafrigo reinforces its commitment to offering reliable, efficient, and temperature-controlled logistics solutions across global markets.
