"The phenomenon and rumour that FRA is and was the forbidden city for e-commerce-flows is now finally and definitely over. We have provided the proof. To back it up, here are the facts: In our e-commerce Terminal @ FRA, we have handled this week three full freighters for a big Asian eShop operator," said Murat Odabas, Managing Director at CB Customs Broker, in a recent social media post.

Starting from May 3, three weekly charters have been delivering e-commerce goods to the e-commerce terminal located at FRA. The shipments are sorted and scanned at the terminal at the parcel level. The customers are then directly cleared using CB Custom Broker's Atlas Impost-certified software.

According to Odabas, the recent freighter operations are just the beginning of CB Customs Broker's new goals. These operations will now be regularly carried out in the dedicated e-commerce terminal at FRA. The e-commerce customs solution provider, which is owned by Lufthansa Cargo and based in Kelsterbach, Germany, has already cleared 349,000 parcels and handed them over to the e-commerce operator's last-mile carrier on the same day.

This update follows the company's announcement of digitally clearing and processing 260,000 shipments weekly from this month onwards. These shipments will be done in the e-commerce terminal at FRA. By reducing the overall lead time from click to order, CB Customs Broker has achieved another new milestone. "We achieved this together with our partners Georgi and heyworld," added Odabas.

In a social media post, the company mentioned, "Since its establishment in 2023, the 20,000 square meter terminal at Airport Frankfurt has proven to be a great success. This month, our handling partner, Georgi Group, and we are excited to welcome our first charter business, which was placed through our sister company, heyworld GmbH."

It's worth noting that Lufthansa's CB Customs Broker recently achieved a new milestone by clearing 50 million customs in just three years. The agency developed its automated customs clearance software and built a team of scientists working on it only three years ago. The agency's sister brand, heyworld, also achieved a milestone by handling 100,000 daily import and export parcels in FRA's e-commerce hub.

At the international transport logistic 2023 trade fair in Munich, CB Customs Broker, Lufthansa's full-service customs agency, announced a new partnership with handling expert Georgi Handling. The goal of this partnership is to expand the e-commerce business in FRA. As a result, a new e-commerce hub has been created at FRA with new capacity, specifically aimed at developing innovative offerings for the Asia region.
