Budapest Airport and Kale Info Solutions have announced a partnership to introduce an advanced Airport Cargo Community System (ACS) that aims to transform logistics operations. This collaboration aims to provide stakeholders in the air cargo value chain with a digital solution that can improve efficiency and competitiveness and enhance Budapest's Airport Cargo Community System, which will streamline business processes for all players involved in air cargo operations at the airport.

Kale Info Solutions Europe B.V., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kale Logistics Solutions, was selected through an invitational tender process to deliver the software service. With a proven track record of operating similar systems at 46 airports worldwide, Kale brings expertise and innovation to the project.

The ACS is a cloud-based platform that connects stakeholders' systems, eliminating paper-based processes and providing real-time tracking and data management capabilities. It streamlines operations and increases transparency and sustainability across the supply chain. Budapest Airport's implementation of the ACS highlights its commitment to becoming a leading cargo hub in Central and Eastern Europe.

In a recent press release, József Kossuth, Cargo Director at Budapest Airport, emphasised the strategic significance of this collaboration and said, "The introduction of the new Airport Cargo Community System adds an important innovative feature to BUD's profile, further strengthening the hub function of the airport."

Kossuth added, "Budapest Airport aims to become the main cargo hub in the Central and Eastern European region. We are on the right track, as the dedicated development of the BUD Cargo City in recent years has provided world-class infrastructure, which, combined with excellent connectivity and a tight-knit cargo community, is attracting more and more partners. We are now the fastest growing airport in the region in terms of cargo volume, as we handled a record 201,306 tons in 2023."

In response to that comment, Vineet Malhotra, co-founder and director of Kale Logistics Solutions, remarked, "We are excited to partner with Budapest Airport in introducing our ACS, which will play a pivotal role in optimising cargo operations and enhancing overall efficiency."

While talking about the aim of this partnership, Malhotra added, "Through this collaboration, we aim to set new benchmarks in cargo handling and contribute to the continued growth and success of Budapest Airport, as a key logistics hub in Europe."

The collaboration between Budapest Airport and Kale Info Solutions marks a significant step forward in advancing cargo handling standards and promoting growth in Europe's logistics landscape. The implementation of the ACS in April is set to establish new benchmarks in cargo operations and contribute to the ongoing success of Budapest Airport as a vital logistics hub in Europe.
