Cathay launches non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Dallas
The Hong Kong-based airline has expanded its North American network by adding a new route to Dallas Fort Worth.
With the launch of direct flights between Hong Kong (HKG) and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Cathay Pacific is expanding its North American network. Scheduled to commence on April 24, 2025, the Hong Kong-based airline’s new service marks its sixth passenger destination in the United States and eighth in North America. This update comes as the airline celebrates its 78th anniversary today.
Cathay Pacific currently operates 88 weekly return passenger flights to North America, including cities like Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, and Vancouver. To complement its existing routes, the airline will also add four return flights per week between Hong Kong and Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) using its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.
The airline’s new service will also complement Cathay Cargo’s existing freighter services to the city via Anchorage. To meet the increasing demand during the air cargo peak season, Cathay Cargo has added five extra return freighter flights per week to North America starting this month. Overall, the airline now operates up to 37 return freighter flights weekly to the region.
“With our unique position of having deep roots in Hong Kong, being proudly part of China, and connecting the world, Cathay continues to build Hong Kong as a leading international aviation hub that connects people to the most exciting places in the world,” stated Lavinia Lau, Chief Customer and Commercial Officer at Cathay Group, in a recent release.
“Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports. With our Cathay Pacific codeshares as well as other flight options, customers can connect to over 190 domestic destinations in the United States, as well as 11 destinations in Central and South America via DFW, further enhancing Hong Kong’s connectivity with North America and important Belt and Road Initiative participating countries,” added Lau.
