Skye Air, India’s largest drone delivery company, and Siddha Sejal Group, one of India’s leading design-driven real estate developers, have partnered to introduce smart and sustainable urban living solutions in Mumbai.
Under the partnership, Skye Air will establish Mumbai’s first drone delivery infrastructure for residents of Siddha Sky, beginning with the installation of its first Skye-Pod at the Siddha Sky residential project in Wadala.
The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Ankit Kumar, Founder & CEO, Skye Air, Samyak Jain, Director, Siddha Group, and Dhirraj Gada, Director, Sejal Group, at a ceremony held in Mumbai.
“We are delighted to announce our strategic partnership with Siddha Sejal Group, marking a defining step in shaping the future of drone-powered deliveries in Mumbai. With Advanced Skye-Pods and AI-based route optimisation via Skye Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), we are setting a new benchmark for tech-enabled urban mobility, transforming the Siddha Sky residential complex into a smart logistics node. This is more than a delivery revolution; it is the beginning of a new era in smart city infrastructure,” says Ankit Kumar, Founder & CEO, Skye Air.
Skye Ship One, the multirotor drone from Skye Air, will be used for operations in Mumbai
This partnership marks the convergence of real estate and technology, demonstrating how innovation can enhance everyday urban living. The first phase of drone-enabled delivery services is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2026, making it Mumbai's first residential drone delivery initiative.
Residents of Siddha Sky, Wadala, will soon be able to receive daily essentials, packages, and e-commerce orders delivered by drones within the premises. A dedicated Skye-Pod zone will be established inside the complex to enable safe and convenient parcel collection. Each drone can travel 1 km in just 60 seconds and operate over a range of up to 30 km, ensuring doorstep deliveries within minutes.
Beyond convenience, this initiative will help reduce traffic congestion, minimise carbon emissions, and promote sustainable logistics by taking a portion of last-mile delivery off Mumbai's crowded roads.
Skye Air leverages its flagship drone, Skye Ship One, capable of lifting 10 kg of shipment in one flight, cloud-based data analytics, IoT sensors, backed by real-time data, advanced UTM systems, and coordinated drone corridors, also known as Skye Tunnel, that set benchmarks for speed, safety, and sustainability. With every delivery, Skye Air saves 520 grams of CO2 emissions.
Skye Ship One, the multirotor drone, can operate at a speed of 40 kmph and is primarily used for express logistics. In addition, the company’s fleet includes two other drones, StarLiner and Artemis, both fixed-wing electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) models designed mainly for healthcare applications.
The operational model of Skye Air
During the presentation, Kumar from Skye Air mentioned that after Mumbai, the company plans to expand its drone delivery operations to other cities, starting with Pune and later Kolkata. He added that drone deliveries are approximately 10% cheaper than conventional delivery methods.
Skye Ship One is also IPX7 waterproof, allowing the drone to operate reliably in rain or wet conditions, including during Mumbai’s monsoon season. However, Kumar noted that operations are typically paused during periods of heavy rainfall.
He explained that the drone can handle a wide range of deliveries, from groceries to iPhones, and added that the company delivered around 2,500 iPhones through its drone network last month in Gurugram.
Kumar further stated that the government is actively promoting the drone logistics ecosystem in India and that regulations are increasingly supportive. However, he acknowledged that obtaining all the necessary clearances can sometimes pose challenges.
Skye Air has been delivering over 200,000 monthly shipments in the National Capital Region (NCR). It is currently serving 27 pin codes in Gurugram, 2 pin codes in Faridabad & Ghaziabad each, and 1 pin code in Bengaluru. The company has partnerships with leading delivery platforms such as Bluedart, Flipkart, Shiprocket, and others, ensuring residents enjoy faster, safer, and greener delivery experiences right at their doorstep.
“We believe innovation must serve people and redefine urban living beyond four walls. Our collaboration with Skye Air is a step toward creating future-ready, tech-integrated communities that combine sustainability with convenience. Drone-enabled deliveries will reduce road congestion, lower carbon emissions, and enhance the quality of life for our residents,” says Samyak Jain, Director, Siddha Group.
Dhirraj Gada, Director, Sejal Group, adds: “We are constantly exploring ways to bring meaningful innovation to our developments. Partnering with Skye Air and Siddha Group aligns with our vision of smart, sustainable, and future-focused real estate. This initiative not only improves convenience but also supports Mumbai's evolution into a cleaner, more efficient urban ecosystem.”
“Mumbai, like most major metros, faces mounting challenges from traffic congestion, delivery delays, and increasing carbon emissions. With over 5 lakh daily last-mile deliveries across the city, traditional logistics systems are struggling to keep pace with demand. Drone-based delivery offers a futuristic, sustainable solution, making faster, safer, and contactless access to goods while significantly reducing on-road traffic and pollution. By integrating drone technology into urban living, developers like Siddha Sajal Group are helping shape a smarter, more efficient, and environmentally responsible city,” says Capt. Eshaan Khullar, Vice President, Skye Air.
