Istanbul Airport appoints Selahattin Bilgen as the new CEO

iGA Istanbul Airport has appointed Selahattin Bilgen as its new CEO, as stated in an official release. As one of the world’s busiest airports with the highest number of flights for four years and the second busiest airport in Europe, Istanbul Airport is committed to maintaining its competitive edge in the rapidly changing dynamics of global competition and continuing its corporate growth.

Bilgen, who has been serving as the acting CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport since September last year, has made significant contributions to the airport with his extensive knowledge, experience and background in the establishment. His leadership has also helped the airport earn numerous awards and recognitions.

During a recent interview with International Airport Review, Bilgen said, “We have fully recovered at the end of 2022,” while discussing the impact of the COVID-19 crisis in 2022. “It has been a strong growth for us, and we are already having good growth in 2023,” added Bilgen.

“This year, we have started our second phase of investment. We will keep growing and investing. We are very positive about future developments,” said Bilgen during the interview. “We are the second largest real-estate sector company in Turkey now, regarding balance sheets,” added he.  

He further mentioned that airport will focus more on issues like corporate governance, organizational structure, and operational efficiency in 2024. We will keep growing and investing.

“Sky is the limit for new product development and opportunities,” added Bilgen.
