Wamos Air renews ULD management agreement with Jettainer
Jettainer will continue to provide a dedicated fleet of unit load devices tailored to Wamos Air’s operational requirements.
Spanish charter airline Wamos Air has renewed its long-term partnership with ULD management provider Jettainer, extending an agreement that supports the airline’s cargo container operations across its charter and ACMI services.
Under the renewed contract, Jettainer will continue to provide a dedicated fleet of unit load devices tailored to Wamos Air’s operational requirements. The containers will be managed through Jettainer’s digital platform JettwareNG, which allows the fleet size to be adjusted in line with operational demand.
The agreement supports Wamos Air’s operations from Madrid Barajas International Airport and across its network of charter services. Founded in 2003, the airline has evolved its business model over time in response to changes in the aviation market. Since October 2024, Wamos Air has been part of the Abra Group, which is the second-largest aviation group in Latin America.
The partnership between Wamos Air and Jettainer began in 2018. During this period, the airline transitioned from its earlier role as a network carrier to focus on charter and ACMI services for both passenger and cargo flights. The carrier operates a fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft and provides short-term and long-term capacity for other airlines.
“Jettainer has been a strong partner from day one, a company we can consistently rely on. Their operational excellence aligns perfectly with our high-quality standards. Thanks to Jettainer, we benefit from a comprehensive ULD supply and the flexibility to support our wet lease operations with additional ULD capacity whenever required,” says Salvador Martínez, VP Operations – Wamos Air.
Jettainer said the partnership reflects its role in supporting airlines that operate flexible fleet and charter models. The company manages a large global pool of unit load devices and provides digital tools to track, position and maintain equipment across airline networks.
“Wamos Air is Spain's leading charter airline, consistently tailoring its services to the needs of its customers and placing the highest value on service quality. We look forward to supporting the airline with our full range of ULD services in the years to come,” says Dr Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt, CEO of Jettainer.
Jettainer manages more than 100,000 unit load devices across around 500 locations worldwide. The company uses data and analytics tools to manage container positioning, maintenance and repair processes. Its service portfolio also includes ULD leasing, cool management and temperature chain solutions.
