Freightos announced that SriLankan Cargo, the air freight arm of SriLankan Airlines, will partner with WebCargo for online air cargo booking and payments.
The partnership, going live this quarter, will enable the 10,000+ freight forwarding offices using WebCargo worldwide to instantly access, quote, book, and pay for SriLankan's air freight capacity through the same comprehensive platform they use for rate management, procurement optimisation, and end-to-end shipping.
SriLankan Cargo’s network reaches 32 destinations in 21 countries and connects to over 200 destinations with partners, with strong links to India and the Gulf.
Zvi Schreiber, CEO of Freightos, said, "SriLankan Cargo brings high-quality regional capacity into our digital network at a time when agility is key."
Chaminda Perera, Head of Cargo at SriLankan Airlines, added, "By joining Freightos’ WebCargo platform, we're not just digitalising our booking process—we're expanding our reach to thousands of new potential customers."
Through the integration, SriLankan Cargo will also use WebCargo’s interlining capabilities, working with major carriers like Qatar Airways, Emirates SkyCargo, Turkish Airlines, and Etihad Cargo to help forwarders book multi-carrier routes and improve partner airlines’ load factors.
The partnership also expands access for non-IATA forwarders through WebCargo Pay, removing the need for airline credit lines or bank guarantees.
